Diverse Effects of Hypothalamic Proline-Rich Peptide (PRP-1) on Cell Death in Neurodegenerative and Cancer Diseases

چکیده
The proline-rich peptide (PRP-1) isolated from neurosecretory granules of the bovine neurohypophysis, produced by N.supraopticus and N.paraventricularis, has many potentially beneficial biological effects. PRP-1 been shown to have opposite effects on cell death in neurodegenerative cancer diseases. It significantly reduces staurosporine-induced apoptosis postnatal hippocampal cells, as well doxorubicin-induced bone marrow monocytes granulocytes, both time- dose-dependent manner. also exerts effect proliferation stromal cells obtained normal humans human giant-cell tumor. cytostatically inhibits chondrosarcoma bulk tumor but drastic cytotoxic sarcomas stem cells. same caused through rats with Ehrlich Ascites Carcinoma model.

Protective Effects of Proline–Rich Peptide in a Rat Model of Alzheimer Disease: An Electrophysiological Study
Introduction: Alzheimer disease (AD) is the most common form of dementia in the elderly that slowly destroys memory and cognitive functions. The disease has no cure and leads to significant structural and functional brain abnormalities. To facilitate the treatment of this disease, we aimed to investigate proline-rich peptide (PRP-1) action of hypothalamus on hippocampal (HP) neurons and dynamic...
متن کاملO19: Advances in the Treatment and Limitations of Cell Therapy in Neurodegenerative Diseases
Neurodegenerative diseases are the hereditary and sporadic diseases which are characterized by progressive neuronal loss of the nervous system and are emerging as the leading cause of death, disabilities, and a socioeconomic burden due to an increase in life expectancy. There are many neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s, disease, amyotrophic lateral...
متن کاملon translation of politeness strategies in dialogues involving female characters in translations and retranslations of novels translated before and after the islamic revolution of iran and their effects on the image of women: a polysystem theory approach
abstract reception environment has considerable effects on accepting a translation. as the expectations of a target culture and its values and needs change throughout history, its criteria for accepting a translation or rejecting it will change accordingly (gentzler, 2001). the expectations of iran, as the reception environment in the present study, have changed after the islamic revolution. i...
Role of sphingolipid-mediated cell death in neurodegenerative diseases.
The metazoan nervous system gives rise intradevelopmentally to many more neurons than ultimately survive in the adult. Such excess cells are eliminated through programmed cell death or apoptosis. As is true for cells of other lineages, neuronal survival is sustained by an array of growth factors, such that withdrawal of neurotrophic support results in apoptotic cell death. Apoptosis is therefor...
متن کاملThe primary structures of six human salivary acidic proline-rich proteins (PRP-1, PRP-2, PRP-3, PRP-4, PIF-s and PIF-f).
Human glandular salivary secretions contain several acidic proline-rich phosphoproteins (PRPs). These proteins have important biological functions related to providing a protective environment for the teeth, and appear to possess other activities associated with modulation of adhesion of bacteria to oral surfaces. These functions and activities depend on the primary structures of the PRPs. Prev...
